The oxygen gas generator is an appliance used to release oxygen through a chemical reaction. These generators are ignited by a firing pin and can result in fire hazard. These are used in aircraft, by firefighters in their breathing apparatus, and wherever the oxygen is required in emergency. These generators are also used in submarines, to escape from mines, and as backup supply in International Space Station. In case of emergency, the oxygen is supplied in commercial aircrafts to the passengers in order to save them from drops in cabin pressure. These oxygen gas generators contain a device to absorb carbon dioxide and filter lithium hydroxide.
